Quick Alito Update

I know not everyone has the privilege of watching the Alito hearings 10+ hours a day, but I'm predicting that libs will ask him to recuse himself from Rumsfeld v. Forum for Academic and Institutional Rights (FAIR) once he's seated in February.

Alito has explained his involvement in Concerned Alumni for Princeton as anger at the university's decision to kick ROTC programs off campus. Rumsfeld v. FAIR is a complaint about the Solomon Amdt., requiring universities who receive public funds to give military recruiters the same access as other employer recruiters. A decision will not be made until after Alito is seated on the court, and petitioners could ask for another oral hearing. They will likely ask Alito to leave, because he has expressed strong opinions about a university's decision to ban military groups. Although it certainly doesn't need Alito's vote to rule in favor of the military, it could be an interesting fight in March/April.

You should know by now that liberal arguments against this nominee are bullsh*t, but here's a great article, by a moderate source, on why these attacks have no substance whatsoever.
