Not Funny

Do you want to watch someone make a complete fool of themselves? Watch Stephen Colbert and his routine at the White House Correspondents' Dinner (There are three parts). The problem with people like Stephen Colbert (and Jon Stewart) is that their constant shtick is the same stupidity over and over again: 1)Make fun of Bush; 2)"Report the news" with a liberal twist in a way that the only joke is the supposed hilarity of the other side of the story (that's the conservative side).

I have never seen a worse comedy routine. Stephen of course stuck with the "make fun of Bush" plan, except that Bush was sitting just down the table. Stephen Colbert is standing up in front of the press on national TV insulting the President as the source of his routine? What is wrong with this guy?

Mr. Bush's routine a couple of years ago, where he pretended to look for the "missing" WMD that he had killed tens of thousands of people over was more than a little tasteless. "Look, we killed all those people, and it was a MISTAKE! Hahahaha."

But Laura Bush's teleprompter jokes last year about the president masturbating horses exuded comedic subtlety appropriate to what, a porn film?

You make that sound like it was a BAD thing. That was what took it from a mere comedy routine and put it into Will Rogers/Mark Twain/H.L. Mencken territory. Look those guys up.

He probably has too much patriotism for his own good.

Yup, you got me.

I suppose you don't think that John Kerry and Bill CLinton's WMD jokes were funny, either.

Oh, and the old "milk a horse" or "milk a bull" joke is about on of the oldest in the book.

Hmmm... Stephen Colbert patriotic? Possibly. Idiotic and unfunny? For sure...
