Why we don't want any part in the International Criminal Court

If we did, cases like this would happen all the time.

The Italians want to indict a US soldier who shot and killed an Italian intelligence officer in Iraq. If you remember, the Italian had just paid an enormous ransom to Iraqi terrorists for the release of an Italian journalist, and decided to try to blow by a US military checkpoint after the soldiers fired shots in the air and at the engine of the car to try and stop it. The soldiers then took out the driver.

This is not a criminal case. When do Americans get to indict Italians for all those who died at Monte Cassino?
