Newsbusters is reporting ABC's insistence on calling former President Bill Clinton the "philanthropist in chief." ABC also reports, foolishly, Clinton's insistence that he would have "done more" in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
As I have reported before, the entire news media has forgotten Clinton's shameful past of national disaster publicity stunts. Even the Des Moines Register reported on the infinite frustrations of rescue workers, national guardsmen, and local Des Moines residents standing in line for hours waiting for water while everyone dropped what they were doing so Bill Clinton could fill a sand bag on the evening news during the floods in Des Moines in 1993.
Clinton would have done more? Yup - he would have turned the disaster into a political stunt.
