Angry Nancy Strikes Again

The AP found necessary to print a puff piece for how wonderful the world will be if Democrats take over Congress in November. However, this article did have one piece of information that all Democrat-inspired puff pieces fail to mention:

the Democrat's actual plan for governance.

…and it's a good thing this is the first time we've seen it - because it is ridiculously horrible.

Put new rules in place to "break the link between lobbyists and legislation."

Laughably useless. No one is so foolish to believe that either party can cut themselves completely free of special interests - least of all the Democrats.

Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

What about the Patriot Act? How can Democrats be taken seriously on defense when they insist on these non sequitur statements?

Raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, maybe in one step.

Economic suicide. Translation - allow businesses to employ fewer workers for more money each. This equals an increase in unemployment - guaranteed.

Cut the interest rate on student loans in half.

The first good thing I've heard from Democrats.

Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.

Sounds a bit like socialized health care to me. Democrats = more government intrusion into healthcare.

Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds — "I hope with a veto-proof majority."

Useless provision. A bizarre attempt to connect to the promises made by Kerry and Co. about "making the paralyzed walk again." Deceitful and dangerous.

"Pay as you go," meaning no increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority.

Democrats who want to limit spending = bold faced lie.

To do that, she said, Bush-era tax cuts would have to be rolled back for those above "a certain level."

Wait a minute - you are going to raise taxes? No way! Of course, the "above a certain level" claim is supposed to make us all feel warm and fuzzy inside. Oh, except that the hit small businesses will take is going to send the strong economy into a tailspin.

So, in case you missed it - if the Democrats take over you will see 1) higher unemployment 2) higher taxes 3) more government intrusion into healthcare and 4) a weaker economy – to say the least.

Besides the AP's shameless promotion of a political agenda I'm glad I at least now know what the Democrat's “plan” is - no matter how flawed it may be.
