The agency's findings come just ahead of the second meeting of the countries that adhered to the Kyoto Protocol — aimed at capping greenhouse gas emissions and staving off global warming — to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, Nov. 6-17.
Under the 1997 Kyoto accord, 35 industrialized nations have committed to reducing emissions by an average 5 percent below 1990 levels by 2012.
The United States, the biggest emitter, has not joined the agreement.
Liars. What they didn't tell you is that the Kyoto scientists themselves admitted that unless a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emission doesn't happen by 2050 global warming and all of their dire predictions will still happen. Kyoto only calls for a 5% reduction by 2012, and 13 of the 15 European countries that the AP claims "committed to" Kyoto will not meet there measly 5% reduction deadlines. Why would the AP write a story like this? Simple - they are not interested in reporting the news; they are only interested in telling people "what they need to know." And I guess you don't need to know that Kyoto is a joke.
