Irony, Worthlessness, and the Corruption of the UN

Don't be surprised, but it seems that the United Nations is corrupt!

Fox News has done a bit of an investigation into the UN's Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM), a part of the UN ironically devoted to transparency in government.

DPADM has been employing Catherine Gazzoli as a web designer and consultant for years. However, it seems that the director of DPADM avoided protocol by hiring Gazzoli for a project and by certifying her salary (which at times was greater that $118,000.) Further, many payments made to Gazzoli over the past 5 years have been sums of $29,999, obviously just under the limit of $30,000 that requires independent certification.

This may be nothing, but it is at least a symptom of the disease that has crippled the UN over the past number of years. Insolvency, lack of transparency, lack of responsibility, and overall corruption have turned the UN into an international joke to be used by international terrorists and dictators to block the legitimate necessary actions of countries like the US.

Once again, I think it's time to halt our financial contributions.
