The French Can't Handle a (American) Winner

Lance Armstrong, seven-time Tour de France winner, is coming under heat again for allegedly taking banned substances as a bicyclist. A French paper printed an article that claims a former teammate said Lance told doctors that were treating him for cancer that he took doping drugs years before his first Tour race. Armstrong denied the allegations, as did other teammates that were with him at the time, as did the doctor that Lance allegedly told.

Earlier this year, Lance won a suit against a company that published a book claiming Armstrong took drugs.

Why is it that the French and the French media can't stand Lance Armstrong and his athletic prowess?

Because he won the Tour de France - seven times...
