John Kerry has been sending emails almost daily on his amendment to withdrawal troops from Iraq by the end of the year. Regardless of your position on the war, most understand that removing troops before Iraq is secure is foolhardy at best. So does the majority of the Senate, which dropped Kerry's amendment like a rock 93-6.
Those who embarrassingly stood with John? Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Barbara Boxer of California, Robert Byrd of West Virginia, Tom Harkin of Iowa and Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts. Good company to be with - some of the nuttiest people in that room.
The American people want to finish the job in Iraq, and even the democratically elected Democrats know that - outside of the six listed above. With the death of al-Qaeda's #1 man and the intelligence received after his death, along with the functioning Iraqi government, I would say things are going quite well.
